“Danang - The Learning City” was born with an aim to break down the invisible frameworks established around learning. We aim to open up diverse, inclusive approaches that respect differences. Therefore, in this Learning Festival, there is no single teacher and no single curriculum; learning can take place in any form, anywhere.
Over the past two events, we have heard countless stories, lessons, and profound reflections from both participants and hosts. We want these stories to be spread and shared more widely, so we can all see that learning is not boring, mechanical, or a burden. On the contrary, it is a wonderful, exciting, free, and authentic experience—where even uncomfortable moments can become precious opportunities for growth.
We want to hear from you—who have been and will become a part of co-creating this festival. We invite you to join us in "harvesting" your learning experiences, new lessons, and fresh perspectives about yourself, others, and the world.
There are many ways and tools to harvest your journey: storytelling, photography, reflective writing, filmmaking, circle sharing, group dancing, and more.
Please use your talents and the "treasures" within you to express what you have gathered while playing, learning, connecting, and conversing during the days of “Danang - The Learning City.” We trust that you will choose the medium that feels most authentic to you.
Thomas Jefferson, the author of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, once wrote: “He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.” [*]
We believe in sharing and spreading meaningful learning experiences from every participant. The more we share, the richer our community becomes, the wider our hearts open, and Danang gradually becomes an even more beautiful city within us.
Whether it is a deep realization, a shift in perspective, a new friendship, or a forgotten childhood memory—whatever you have harvested, please don’t hesitate to share it with us and the community!
