XomTour, a tourism initiative operating as a social enterprise, aims to promote conscious and responsible tourism. XomTour aims to combine meaningful tourism activities and experiential learning with the participation of the community.

Therefore, XomTour is a regenerative tourism initiative that gives travelers the opportunity to come into deep contact with local communities. Participants will participate in practical learning with local artisans, farmers and communities, thereby gaining deep understanding of culture and contributing to the process of regenerating local ecosystems, economy and culture.

To reimagine how we travel, XomTour aims to:

- Design and coordinate sustainable and meaningful tourism activities.
- Provide training programs on community tourism/regenerative tourism.
- Consult organizations and businesses on regenerative tourism.
- Research and improve understanding of regenerative tourism.
- Build a diverse ecosystem of multiple stakeholders to promote systemic change in the tourism industry.

Through XomTour, Vcil Community combines principles of regenerative development, entrepreneurial spirit with tourism, aiming to create travel experiences beneficial to travelers, the environment and local communities. XomTour's activities are operated based on:

  • Community tourism: Promote direct interaction with local people to nurture meaningful relationships, cultural exchange and understanding between travelers and local communities.
  • Regenerative development: Encourage tourism activities that restore and regenerate local ecosystems and environments.
  • Local Economy: Connect local people to tourism activities to ensure economic benefits are shared within the community.

To reverse the impacts of mass tourism, XomTour aims to create positive impacts on local communities in terms of culture, economy and environment.

  • Socio-economic perspective: By selecting products and services operated by local people or ethical businesses, money spent contributes to the local economy. We ensure that income is shared fairly among all participants, rather than concentrated among just one or a group. Tour guides will be local farmers, fishermen, artisans... people living and making a living from their livelihoods. However, tourism should only be seen as a supplement to help increase income, rather than making them dependent on tourism.
  • Environmental perspective: We must be conscious in choosing service providers, ensuring they have waste reduction practices, circular economy, upcycle, environmentally friendly materials. In particular, we will choose local people with deep indigenous knowledge, know how to manage local resources sustainably. XomTour also seeks and supports individuals and communities in the work they do daily - work that helps protect the land where they live.
  • Cultural perspective: XomTour encourages local people to share and express their indigenous way of life to travelers. This includes eating seasonal foods, traditional dishes, folk tales and festivals, protecting land and water sources. By helping them feel proud of their roots and culture, XomTour also helps preserve local culture.
