A Life-Changing Learning Experience

VCIL Travel School 2022 was an extraordinary journey of learning, connection, and transformation. From October 15-November 5, 2022, a group of 25 participants from across Southeast Asia traveled to Udaipur and New Delhi, India, to explore alternative education and sustainable development approaches.

What We Learned

In Udaipur: We immersed ourselves in Shikshantar: The Barefoot University, experiencing first-hand how education can be truly liberating and rooted in community wisdom. We learned about self-directed learning, the role of mentorship, and how education can foster critical consciousness and social change.

In New Delhi: We engaged with social movements, explored alternative economics, and connected with activists working on issues ranging from education to environmental justice to economic rights.
