[ACT] Course "Transforming Conflict Based on Awareness" (Awareness-Based Conflict Transformation)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

We cannot eliminate conflict from human life at any level, but we can transform it from destructive to constructive.

Based on Process Work Psychology founded by Arnold Mindell, in this course, we will develop skills in coordination, sensing, and awareness to transform conflict at the levels of inner psychological processes, between individuals, and in groups. Process Work is a holistic psychological approach based on many different traditions: quantum physics, Taoism, Jungian psychology, and shamanism. It also provides practical methods for working in many areas of life such as inner processes, unusual physical manifestations, family dynamics, relationships, organizational conflicts, and conflicts between different groups, ethnicities, and religions.

At The Soil Project and VCIL Community, we believe that learning to resolve conflict in a healthy manner, transforming conflict from destructive to constructive, can help build stronger relationships, help us understand each other, and promote a more peaceful and harmonious society.

Therefore, together with our facilitators Atcharee and Chanchai, we have designed this course on conflict transformation and conflict resolution to provide essential knowledge and skills to transform both inner psychological conflicts and conflicts in relationships around us.

Many types of conflict arise because something is blocked and not being processed. In this course, we will learn to address them by following subtle signals as clues for transformation, based on the principle that what stands in the way becomes the way. Finally, we will learn to harmonize with and dance to the beauty and power of tension, conflict, and our own fears so we can move toward deeper shared experiences and sustainable common solutions.

FACILITATORS: Atcharee Amphaikitpanich & Chanchai Chaisukkosol

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:

1. Develop coordination and awareness skills to process conflicts within ourselves and others, leading to breakthroughs.

2. Befriend conflict to discover unexpected solutions arising from within the conflict itself.

3. Learn to work with privilege and power hierarchies.
